SISTERS ATHLETIC CLUB ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH SOAR
February 8, 2007
The Sisters Athletic Club is one of the first businesses to
join the new Business Partnership Program offered by SOAR. The
Business Partnership Program was introduced as a way for SOAR
to build mutually beneficial relationships with local
business.
"SOAR has received such strong support from the business
community over the last 11 years; this is our way of giving
back while in the process building a more hands on relationship
with our constituents."
The Sisters Athletic Club has already demonstrated their
commitment to serving the community's youth through sponsorship
of free swim lessons for 3rd graders, Interim Week 3x year
working with middle-school youth in health and fitness
training, swim team meetings, and high school independent
study. Their partnership with SOAR will extend even beyond the
Club through their involvement with the Sisters Scramble and
the upcoming Sisters Mountain Games.
With the planned expansion at the Sisters Athletic Club,
partnering with an organization that shares their vision was an
integral part of SAC's long-term strategic plan. Prior board
member for SOAR, and owner/operator at SAC, Tate Metcalf,
explains the reasoning behind the new alliance.
"SOAR and the Sisters Athletic Club's programs
compliment each other. We're both working together to build a
safe, healthy community that makes Sisters a great place to
live. Pledging to support SOAR both financially and through
grass roots volunteerism benefits the entire community. Any
time the community benefits, business benefits. It's a
win-win."
SAC is in the early stages of an expansion that will include
tennis courts, increased weight and cardio, and double the
locker room space. A restaurant is also planned for the
facility that will feature a wide range of Northwest cuisine
prepared by Chef David Berger.
