You Can Draw

Conditional Supply Fee:

There is a $15 supply rental fee, paid directly to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop, for anyone who would like to have the following supplies provided by the instructor.  The instructors do not accept credit cards, so be sure to bring cash or a check with you.  No supply fee for those who bring their own supplies.  Please indicate your preference when registering for this workshop.
Required Supplies:
1 18X24,11x14, or 12x18 or 9x12 sketch pad of drawing paper or newsprint
1 4B graphite stick or 4b "woodless" graphite pencil
1 2b, 4b and 6b drawing pencil
1 kneaded eraser
1 tuff stuff drafting eraser (looks like an eraser in a pen) Sanford - Papermate (Blick has it)
OPTIONAL
The following supplies are at students discretion. If you have some experience with other media you may wish to work in, you are welcome to bring supplies consistent with that media, and work in it.  We are going to experiment with different techniques in conjunction with learning to draw, so you may want to bring a variety of other drawing materials and interesting papers
MEDIA
Conte crayon : red, white and black
Pen & ink
Charcoal pencil , compressed charcoal or vine charcoal, white charcoal pencil
Watercolors and brush combined with pen & ink
PAPERS:
Pastel paper in mid tone colors (for use with conte crayon and charcoal)
Japanese rice paper
Handmade specialty paper
Watercolor paper ( for use with watercolor)
Clayboard black (for scratch board)
Clayboard textured (for watercolor)
