Make a ceramic tile to decorate your room, or give as a
gift. Or, make
your mark at SOAR by contributing it to wall art for the Teen
Center.

Tumalo Falls & Swimming
We will start the day out with a hike to Tumalo Falls, enjoy a
picnic lunch and then cool off with an afternoon at the pool. -

Jewelry Making
Single strand bracelet making Impress your friends and
family by making a single strand bracelet using many different
elements. Learn basic wire twisting.
Presented by Nancy of Outwest Design.

Skate Park, Willamalane Park & Wave Pool
Grab your skateboard and swimming suit and hop on the bus to
the Tony Hawk dedicated Willamalane Skate Park. Spend the
morning Skating or hanging in Willamalane Park. Have a
sack lunch in the park, and then cool off by hitting the waves
at the Lively Wave Pool.

The teen center is open mttf from 11:00 - 5:00
Youth are encouraged to complete a one-time registration for
the teen center. This registration provides us with
important emergency information.
Back by popular demand
As promised we have planned another chance for youth to visit
the skate park and wave pool in springfield. The trip
will be July 24th from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. cost is
$25.00. Registration is required and we filled up last time, so
please register early.
Youth council applications are available at soar.
We are in the process of putting together a youth council which
will steer the activities planned for youth at soar and to
provide leadership to other youth in sisters. If you are
a sisters's. Teens who would like to gain
leadership and service experience and hours are encouraged to
apply. Please call anne at soar with questions.
Deschutes River Trail/Sun Mountain Fun Center
Work up an appetite with an easy hike on the Deschutes River
Trail. Enjoy pizza for lunch and then spend the
afternoon bowling and enjoying other activities at Sun
Mountain.

Rock Climbing & Camping at Smith Rocks State Park. Meet at
S.O.A.R. and head out to Smith Rocks where we will
Set-up camp, enjoy an evening climb, then cook dinner. We will
climb again in the morning before heading back to
S.O.A.R. Great Climbing! Great Food! Great Views!

Warm Springs Museum/Kahneeta Resort Swimming
Meet up at S.O.A.R. and travel to the Warm Springs Museum to
brush up on your Native American knowledge. We will then
travel to Kahneeta Resort where we will enjoy lunch, and then
spend the afternoon at the pool. Check out the
new water slide!

Old Mill and a Movie
Meet up at S.O.A.R. and head to the Old Mill for a few hours of
shopping and enjoy lunch before heading to the movies.

Babysitter/First-Aid Training
Do you have what it takes to be a good babysitter? This
class will prepare you for taking care of the needs of infants
and small children, ideas for playing with them, and first-aid
response in the event of an emergency

Teens in the Kitchen - The Whole Enchilada
Learn how to make enchiladas from scratch. Grind dried
peppers to make sauce, chop ingredients, cook meat, and then
put it all together to make enchiladas that will make your
family beg for more. Each participant will take home 12
rolled
enchiladas.

Hollywood Action Adventure Film Camp
Did you ever wonder how Hollywood makes action
films? This one-day camp will allow you to learn
some of the most common action effects. Create a story,
act out a scene, and then ad special effects. Learn to
edit and create a completed movie scene. Each participant
will take home a completed video to dazzle your
friends and family.

COMING THIS FALL TO THE SOAR TEEN CENTER
This fall we will be introducing some exciting new programs to
Sister's teens. We will no longer offer drop-in at the
Teen
Center after school except on Fridays. Instead we
are developing some exciting new programs that teens can
register for. We will continue to offer drop-in on
Fridays only when we will offer Dinner and a Movie to
teens. Stay tuned for information on
the following new programs:
Mondays - Homework Club (help will be on hand to help youth
get it done)
- Rising Stars Club (leadership development for MS Teens
Tuesdays - For Girls Only (special enrichment program for
girls)
Wednesdays - Homework Club
Thursdays - Outdoor Adventure Club
Fridays - Dinner and a Movie
We are also planning some great opportunities for no-school
days.
